What is LRS Database and/or LRS Verticomp?
LRS Verticomp and LRS Database is Library Reference Service’s Vertical Files on Computer.

While the media and communication revolution has continued to command the attention of every phase of our society, Library Reference Service has examined various options to adapt this technology to the needs of school libraries.
How does the one year subscription work?
When we receive your order, you are assigned a user name and a password. This username and password can be used on any computer within your school; it is assigned to you, not your computer. You can even let your students access our service from home, if you choose to let them! The subscription fee is the same, whether you have one computer or 100.

If you choose to renew, you can keep your password. You also may request to have your password changed any time.
What are your sources?
Our editors are scouring the literature for sources that are not commonly found in high school or junior college libraries. Our sources are professional journals, government committee hearings, professional magazines and pamphlets, alternative presses, private and non-profit corporations, to name just a few.
You mention "edited for high school use" and "edited for length"
LRS Verticomp/LRS Database is in the service of providing you with research material, not producing it! We think that it is important that students are able to quote the source first-hand, and see and read the information as the author intended it. Most articles we use are chosen to fit the 2 to 4 page format.
How often are your topics updated?
Nearly every day! Our editors are working every day to find new, updated information on all of the topics. The internet format allows us to edit the program on-line, providing you with the latest information.
